Elaborate Quote

I'm sure everyone by now has heard the quote:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure."

I've always loved that! But, it wasn't until the other day at MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) that we were given a copy of the whole quote. It talks to us women about how we sometimes don't feel right, or think it's OK to really...shine, or be great at something. It might be frowned upon for looking like we think too highly of ourselves. Not that modesty is a bad thing! Of course there's attitude and outlook with everything. But...listen to this:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous. Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that's within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone, and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people persmission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
~Marianne Williamson

Wow...
God, you are soooo good! Love that!
Hope this inspires all of you,
Becky

This is probably the best quote I have ever read. And oh so true! I for one am a person who would rather belittle herself to make another person feel more comfortable. I am aware of it, and it is something I really want to change. This quote will become my new mantra. Thank you so very much for sharing this, Becky! {hugs}
