Clear the Closets!

Today, my bedroom looked like a giant dressing room at Macy's! Lily and I pulled out all kinds of things to try on for our trip back to Hawaii...in 2 weeks!!! What fits, what doesn't...what do we need...what do we WANT...LOL
And then I surprised her with her new Easter dress and silk slippers...of course we then had to have a fashion show! (So funny...I had to play the Prince who comes to see why she only has 1 slipper on...and do I have the other perhaps??)
While in Hawaii, David's Mom wants to have a big "photo shoot" on one day over at his Grandmother's house. All the grandchildren will be there at one time, so it'll be pretty neat. I figure this dress can double for that too...
Oh! And where, praytell, did I get this fabulously noir frame??? Well, it's a little bit of a secret...but you might find it over at Nancy Comelab's shop disguised with MANY other fabulous tidbits in a cleverly wrapped ..."Brown Bag!" ...run quick!

Down by the Ocean...

A little fun with Lanne's new "Jack and the Giant Storyboard" collection...
It's a little small on here, but I just love the colors of this one! And can you tell that it was FREEZING! lol
Can you also believe that 2 days ago it was almost 70 degrees...and today is snowing!!! Crazy...

Happy Valentine's Day

I LOVE this quote! I saw it the other day in a magazine, and just fell in love...
Hope everyone has a Wonderful Day!
I was just playin' around the other day and made this cute stamped heart frame. If anyone would like to have it, just let me know and I'll send it on over!

The Sun'll Come Out...

....Tomorrow, Tomorrow! (We just watched "Annie", can you tell???) I love that movie! I hadn't seen it in years...and it brought back fond memories of when I was priviledged to be in the pit orchestra my Senior year for the musical production of it. Sooo fun, and SUCH an experience!

Anyways, "The Sun Coming Out" just happens to coincide with my new LO I finally finished with one of Nancy's newest shadowed photoclusters. They are AWESOME! You feel like you're LO is almost finished, instantly! I used #4 in this one. We finally had a sunny day and braved going to the beach. Sooo fun...but such cold wind! Mommy couldn't last very long! Lily could have stayed all day!

Oh! Check out this amazing opportunity over at Nancy's site! Just for entering, you can win one of six $50 gift certificates for her products!!! How cool is that??

Ok, better get back to work!

Toodles!

Little Moments

(Click on picture to see better)

It seems to be a prevalent thought these days...cherishing the little moments, and realizing how precious they are. With loved ones getting really sick, or just things in life giving us surprises, it's actually a little comforting to focus on these...little moments.
I'm really enjoying the new found joy of capturing some these on film, and really thinking about what they are saying to me.
The other morning, the mist was sooo thick, and the sun was trying so hard to break through...but only got through enough to make all the dewdrops sparkle on the tree branches as the little birds...just waited, and watched. Me too.

Sparrow, sparrow
In morning's mist
Awaiting the new day to begin.
While dewdrops glisten
In dawn's early light
and
The world seems fresh and new,
We catch a glimpse of splendor together
Sharing
This fleeting moment
Me...
and you.

The Love Bug is starting to bite...

I know it's only the middle of January, but I'm just getting really giddy about all things...Valentine this year. I actually want to decorate the house a bit with all things red and pink and just plain ole... "love"-ly things!

(Credits: all Jen Wilson Designs except the art strokes by me)

I'm always reading various photography blogs with gorgeous photos of children in the most beautiful window lighting. Then the other day, in the midst of many dreary days, the most incredible light shown thru our bedroom window. Lily was on my bed and I happened to look over at her...and instantly said, "FREEZE, LILY!" and ran like the wind for my camera! (or as we like to say in our house, "run like a Jackal!" ) I just have a point and shoot, so I was sooo happy with how lovey some of them turned out. All I did was diffuse the color...and didn't touch the lighting at all! I think I want to blow it up and get it printed....but for now, this beautiful little kit from JWD goes right along with my need for all things "Valentine" right now. LOL

A Little Shoppin' Therapy!

Aren't these the CUTEST???

I just found them at my local Joann's Fabric and Crafts...it's the first time I've seen any of Rhonna's actual "stuff" in person. I hope they get more...there were about a dozen different ones, and get this....only $1 each!!!!

I'd have to say that wandering around Fabric and Crafts stores (or even Lowe's! LOL) with a tall Frozen Carmel Macchiato makin' my brain just flood with oh-so-wonderful ideas...is one of my most favorite...and looked forward to, things in the world!

Still getting ideas for Lily's Disney Fairies theme birthday...I keep thinking I have a lot of time, but it's really only 4 weeks away...AAHHGG! lol

And last but not least, I just HAVE to get these when they get them back in stock. Perfect for my lil Lily projects!

"Once Upon A Time..."

Ahhhh...Tuesdays

Whew! My brother is finally being able to at least come home today. His blood pressure is stablilizing, and with that comes the road to recovery! I won't go into details (especially about where this was..you can guess! lol) too much even though my brother's a goofball and probably would think it's funny...but can you imagine just getting a zit that ends up getting infected, and you finally go to the doctor...and then they rush you into the hospital! Surgery, staff infection in your blood stream, kidney failure, allergic reactions to the antibiotics, swelling up like a balloon, etc. LATER....OH MY! Talk about being paranoid now!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your kind words and prayers...it's really meant a lot. And through it all, there was a Peace.

Saturday, January 13, 2007

Please keep in your prayers today...

A really quick request out to anyone who might pop by today...I know a lot of you out there believe in God and the power of prayer and I ask you today to pray for my brother who went into the hospital yesterday to have emergency surgery on an abcess, that now they are moving him into CCU today because they believe it is staff infection that has gone into his blood stream. He's having kidney failure with spiking fever, and are bringing in specialists. (Nutshell)
Lily and London ( my nephew) are the same age, and I'm going to be taking care of him while my sister-in-law stays with him in the hospital...she needs strength, and to really know God loves her and His will is for our good, so she can trust Him and feel His peace...
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers surrounding and sustaining us during this time,
Becky

Little "Miss Santa Claus"

Today, I came down the stairs to our entryway to find Lily with her carseat laying on its back...transforming it into a sleigh. Then, she had a bag of toys on the back, and had it hooked up to her two "reindeer." A red santa cap with white fur was replaced with nothing else, but her pink snowbunny one.SUCH imagination! I LOVE it!So when I went to film her, she sang me this little impromptu doozy...

"You can call me MISS Santa Claus..."

(I don't know if I can get the quality to be a bit better or not...and "Thanks, SMJ!" for showing me this site!)

Everyone Loves A "Twist"

(Kit: Mia's Room, SMJ Vertical Realistic Photo Slide: Nancy Comelab)

What? Two posts in one day??? Why, yes...stranger things have happened! LOL

I just HAVE to share my latest LO...it's totally my fav right now! Love how it turned out...and it got me outta my uninspired slump as of late. Check out "Lifts with a Twist" featuring a great LO to scraplift (this week, one of "OliveJuice's") and a favorite designer every week. This week is the one and only Shabby Miss Jenn...and couldn't have come at a better time because I just LOVE her new kits and wanted to use them! Lots of incentives too...so if you are in a slump like I was, this'll surely cure ya!

Have a Wonderfully Inspirational evening!

Great New Product...

But First...a little snap of my two favorite people! (dont' ask me why my DH thinks it's funny to push out his stomach like he's preggo when he takes a picture! Maybe posting this on the web will start cure him! LOL) These Realistic Photo Frames by Nancy Comelab (BelgianAngel)are sooo fun! Love her! She has quite the variety of sizes and shapes too! Check her out over at My Digital Muse...

And now, presenting...The Arccivo! This new scrapbooking product looks sooo awesome. Perfect for crops and...dining room table vs. kids dilemas! LOL Go check out the little demo at their site by Donna Downey, who's promoting it. She has an interesting behind-scenes post about it. Sooo cool that the ladies who invented it won a tv contest to have it made and put into production...that would be a total dream!! ( Their website just went up this week.) All your loose pages in progress (with embellies) are held tight by magnet sheets..and it's a workstation too!
Well, today girls...I actually got up with my husband! 5:45 AM...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What was I thinking?? It's now 7:40, and I really am wanting to go back to sleep. (Shhh...I think I will. I have probably and hour + before Lily wakes up.) I am sooooo not an early riser, so this is a BIG deal. But, I'm trying to reorganize my time so that I'm not "fighting" with it during the day and poor little Miss gets the shorter end than I want. AND so I'll be able to keep up with all the fun things that I want to share with y'all! LOL
Have I said that we've gotten our tickets to go visit DH's family back in...Hawaii??? Yep! We're going in the middle of March...perfect time to go...after the winter pounds and extreme "whiteness" of the skin have hit their high point for the year...Aggghhh! LOL But, we're looking forwards to it. We haven't been back since we lived their 3 years ago...and since my DH has only EVER been away from all his family for no longer than 6 months at a time, it's a pretty big deal. Lily will get to see cousins that she's never met...and ones that only remember her just turning 1 years old! Going to be interesting...
Well, better go get that little hour of snoozin'!

Don't Mess With Little St. Nick!

Yes..I'm alive! Been meaning to tell you girls lots of things...and it just never happened! Sheeeesh! But, this weekend I should try and update a bit. For now, I just had to share this LO of my nephew at Christmas...he was sooo excited, he turned and ran---full force into the corner of our wall! (Oh my goodness! I felt sooo bad, poor little guy..) Anyways, he quickly gained composure with the sure remedy of a coveted Strawberry Shortcake bandaid from Lily. And with his Santa Hat cocked a little to the side...he was good to go. And nobodies better say anyting about the Strawberry Shortcake bandaid! He can make anything work, I tell ya! Ha! LOL Sooooo Cute!

You get the Idea...

Here's the sampling of my 4x6 desktop frame calendar of the Reavis' Grandkids!
The hardest part was choosing which beautiful papers to use! (Thanks especially to SP, JenW, NancieRJ and Michelle C.!! and to the many more artists that I used odds and ends...)

Merry Christmas!!

Just a real quick "Holiday Hello" to everyone! This is the cover "Christmas Card" to my 4x6 frame calendars I made for gifts this year. They turned out pretty cute, thanks to some of my favorite designers! (SP, JenW,ScrapArtist) I don't have a LO of them yet, so I'll post that after Christmas.
But I just wanted to be sure to wish everyone a "Merry Christmas!"
...what a special time of year this is...to be remembered in our hearts, Every Day.
God Bless You, Every One!

Nothing like a "Tag" to draw One out of seclusion...

Ohh Nancy, Nancy, Nancy....you've drawn me out of my momentary blog escape with a TAG!

Scrappin Lately?

Journaling reads: ("Ohh Mommy, Look! This must be where Fairies live...")

(Psalm 139..."...You created my inmost being...I am fearfully and wonderfully made..."

This week with all the snow...and not being able to go to work....was such a nice break! And, I got to do some scrappin'! Finished up Jen Wilson's Meaning contest, and played a little more with SMJ's new kit....so fun! AND I've been designing a 4x6 frame calender for family Christmas presents...really nice to feel like I'm accomplishing something fun.

David and I finally got to have a "date night" last night...the church we go to has a "kids night in" evening in Dec. so parents can go out and eat and shop, or whatever. So we did that last night. I was sooo excited to get dressed up a bit and go out! Dinner...was actually horrible. And the movie that I thought would be perfect for us...romantic, sci-fi, timetraveling..."The Fountain"...was sooooo boring and....eeeuugckkk...I can't think of the proper word...but you'll get the idea if I told you there were strangely a lot of high schoolers there, and it was definitely a movie created to watch "under the influence." What a waste! Oh well. At least we still got to go out. I started getting a sore throat, and this morning...I can't even talk! This is sooo bad!

Be thankful in all things, right? Right.

Especially thinking on this past week with all the ice and snow, and David coming home one day telling me that he had to make a "crash landing" down an icy hill (backwards) into a bunch of bushes with his water truck...when he stepped out at the top, his brakes broke free and he almost was ran over by his own truck! But was able to jump back in and slide it sideways over the ice to steer it away from going straight thru a customers house! Poor thing...he said he "lost his lunch" after it was all over. Good thing Lily and I prayed that very morning for God's angels to guard and keep Daddy today!

Well, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

We're going to do up all the Christmas Decorations....Yea!!! Love how cozy the house feels when it's decorated....

Did I Mention...SNOW

Wow! When I wished for snow...boy did we get it! Only every few years do we get this much...an apparrently there's more to come! LOL
I couldn't even get to work today...shucks...it was just no fun at all to stay home and play in the snow with Lily and then warm up inside in pajamas as we made cinnamon scones and had Chai Tea Lattes...(hers was light on the Latte, heavy on the milk...but she didn't notice! LOL)
AND I got to scrap some!
Here's a fun view from our back windows....BBQ totally covered in like a foot of snow! And the willow trees were sooo beautiful! Lanne's Poison Apple storyboards are sooo much fun, love 'em!
Then a little crazy snow girlie playin' today...the snow was really coming down, so I did my best!
Oh! If you haven't seen Miss Shabby Jenn's new kit, Pomegranate Street...go check it out...so cute!

First Snow

Oh my goodness...what did we wake up to early this morning, but SNOW!!! Yea! Yea! Snow makes me so happy! Last year, we saw it all around in the foothills, but only got a sprinkling one day and that's it...such a bummer. But this morning, there were a good 5 inches...which melted away by the end of the day, but I don't care! I woke Lily up from her dreaming and told her there was a surprise outside for her and she needed to get her snow boots and mittens on...l'il half-asleep miss groggy head got right out of bed and fumbled around the zillion stuffed animals she sleeps with as quick as she could to find everything that was needed to see this great surprise...
Only took a few pics...but what a lovely way to wake up on a Saturday in the Christmas Season!
